Anya Lourens

It’s a privilege to create something new out of something unwanted. Each piece of discarded fabric has a story to tell, and by making something new from it, I am creating a new story, a new layer.
Layered items are all made from repurposed fabrics – beautiful fabrics that are no longer needed or wanted, and I am able to give them a new lease of life! I take so much joy to create something that is beautiful, comfortable, functional and sustainable.
I love to focus on creating something of good quality, and by combining different colours and textures I am able to create something completely unique!

Arend Louw

Arend takes inspiration from the quiet and solace from the serenity provided by his surroundings on the West Coast – a detail that is evident in the focus he exercises over his art. Each work is motivated by Arend’s surroundings; his use of photography is in direct symbiosis with the paintings he creates, thus capturing the finer nuances of small town
life.

Clare Menck

She renowned for her paintings and monoprints of swimmers floating effortlessly in water, a visual metaphor for a sense of freedom, being at peace with one’s body and in tune with one’s natural environment. Lately Clare has turned to queer ecology and rewilding environmentalism, especially regarding the celebration and care of our oceans. She explores gender fluidity in terms of metaphoric combinations of women swimming & sea creatures. Her other passion is to explore the vintage queer experience via Victorian and retro subjects of the previous century and lately combines these with ocean iconography to weave subtle visual narratives around queer, and especially lesbian, identity.

Stephanus du Toit

I am a visual artist who lives on a mountain. My greatest joy is when my art quietly captures music and makes movement audible.
I spend a lot of time in remote and corners and in the silence I receive inspiration. My work seeks to capture essence and impression.

Lara da Silva

Pressed flower artist and lover of words. Lara sells art prints, and has developed a line of thoughtfully designed, unique stationery that can be framed and used within the home. All flower pressing is done using traditional methods.

Monique Nienaber

As a goldsmith, my passion lies in the transformative power of my craft. Each piece I create is a journey of turning the mundane into the extraordinary, breathing new life intomaterials that might otherwise be overlooked. This process is not just about recycling materials but reimagining their potential.
It’s about seeing the hidden beauty within and bringing itto the forefront for the world to appreciate.

Amelia Keefer

Hand-built ceramics continue to be the expression of Amelia Keefer’s creative life and conversation. After four years in the Klei Kollectiv studio in Vredehoek, under the caring guidance of ceramicist Amelia Jacobs, she enjoys the challenge of hand formed clay slabs and the capricious nature of glazes. These days she is challenged to produce distinctive bodies of themed works – spiritual, organic and architectural in design.
