Piketberg-Aurora Wedloop Entries will be open from 1 January 2026 The race will be hosted by Spilhaus Piketberg. It’s a short ultra marathon (you can either walk or run the race), and by walking, you should be able to do it within the 12-hour time bracket. The distance, according to Google Maps, is 45.4km, but the true distance from start to finish is 48km. Anyone older than 18 years may register. The traffic department does not allow young people under 16 years to do a race on the open road, and people younger than 18 years need consent from their legal guardians, so we decided to make the age bracket for people older than 18. Starting point is in Main Street Piketberg at the NG Kerk Building. Ending in Skool str Aurora at the NG Kerk Building. The race is to commemorate Aurora’s Founders Day on 26 April 1906 and it forms part of the 150 years celebration of the company WM Spilhaus. It is a non-profit race; we are going to use the entry fee to finance the race and if there is any extra money it will be donated to a few local institutions.
