Piketberg-Aurora Wedloop

• Entries will be open from 1 January 2026
• The race will be hosted by Spilhaus Piketberg.
• It’s a short ultra marathon (you can either walk or run the race), and by walking, you should be able to do it within the 12-hour time bracket.
• The distance, according to Google Maps, is 45.4km, but the true distance from start to finish is 48km.
• Anyone older than 18 years may register. The traffic department does not allow young people under 16 years to do a race on the open road, and people younger than 18 years need consent from their legal guardians, so we decided to make the age bracket for people older than 18.
• Starting point is in Main Street Piketberg at the NG Kerk Building.
• Ending in Skool str Aurora at the NG Kerk Building.
• The race is to commemorate Aurora’s Founders Day on 26 April 1906 and it forms part of the 150 years celebration of the company WM Spilhaus.
• It is a non-profit race; we are going to use the entry fee to finance the race and if there is any extra money it will be donated to a few local institutions.
